Monaco Slam Prix!!

In a desperate attempt to save the most "glamorous" event of the year from becoming another yawn like it has been for the past so many years, Bernie, Bernie Ecclestone, pulled all the strings he could to ensure that Monaco is still considered a must watch event. But sadly, it doesnt deserve to be a track. With enough space for two tricycles to go side by side, this track is an absolute pain to those who enjoy some good old racing. After all wasnt that what it was all about?

But, unfortunately, and yeah, sadly, this track depends on the weather and roads narrower than the width of the car, and spikes on the track to make it even watchable. Folks, if anything, this year's race at Monaco, begs for its removal from the F1 calender. Infact, if Bernie is really hell bent on maintaining the glamor, he can have teh cars go around the track 78 times in 2 hours, one after the another, and declare the guy who doesnt crash the winner. Actually, lets forget the 78. Just last 2 hours and you win. Take a tricycle around, no problem. Just keep moving for 2 hours. And my man, Blew it Hamilton did just that to win the farcical Monaco Slam Prix!

Congratulations!!

U should never underestimate the skill involved in negotiating those tight corners...racing is not all abt long straights!!!!!
Amazing, it's a dream of every racer to race at Monaco...n u come up with this!!!
It always happens like this, ur views are different from those of the sensible majority!!
HaMILTON IS one of the best talents ever, he may emulate Schumi(though that's asking too much)...
Be sad for Force India..they lost out on their 1st points
Commiserations Adrian Sutil!

To me your perspective about monaco is how i see f1 itself. Somehow i prefer an absolutely flat straight road with cars going nearly at mach 1.

The beauty of F1 lies in varied circuits and Monaco stands out in that respect. If you prefer straight tracks and nothing else, go watch the Le Mans race or
Indy500...whats the point of having electronic traction control if you arent gonna use it??

I have a feeling you are resorting to controversial views just to get attention...how typical of a Le'bron fan!!

Dude....if there was no Monaco theres no F1....more than half the money involved in F1 comes from this one race...so kindly bear with the tricycle race once weekdn...so u can watch some racing on 17 other ocassions

If f1 was only about straight line speeds, there would ve been no place for lesser teams.. It would ve been a two-party domination (ferrari and mclaren) with ferrari and mclaren racing on the tricycles you talked about.

Somehow, there's a sense of excitement in me everytime the scene shifts to monaco each year. Monaco is all about precision racing... and also a chance for the lesser teams to salvage some pride. Its the great leveller of a track (no wonder then that ferrari which has been dominating the last 3 races had to eat humble pie, albeit in rather fortutious circumstances for the other teams) and the pinnacle of street racing.

Maybe, just maybe, you should watch the Monaco Flying Lap with Lewis Hamilton during race day again....!

MONACO ROCKS!!!

Monaco is one of the oldest destinations of motor racing may it be formula-1 or world rally championship. It holds a special position on the formula-1 calender. Surely, its a very slow and tight circuit but that in itself is a challenge for formula-1 teams which makes watching the event worthwhile.

I don't agree with Gangu on Le Mans. Le Mans and different Le Mans series are great championships and do not involve straight line tracks. Endurance racing has its own charm which you wouldn't find in a normal race. But "this is my opinion" and he may not agree.

As for the blog, it sucks when it comes to the layout and presentation and the author.

Sad kimi lost out coz of one mistake and that lucky bastard hamilton got away even after blowing his tyres...Neday i'd perefer Hockenheim,Spa or Barcelona over monaco coz wats F1 without overtaking and sheer speed...and Monaco might be a little risky without traction control

agree with what shubhayan said.. and the fact that hamilton won it.. is reason enough to prove it isnt upto f1 standards

This author should be banned from writing....and btw...hamilton sucks
